Raised on her family’s beef cattle ranch in Tomales, CA, as a 6th generation rancher, Alyssa’s lineage traces back to some of the first ranching families to settle in the area in 1890 in Marin and Sonoma County. She shares this rich agricultural heritage with her husband, who was raised on a dairy farm and whose family was also among the first to settle and farm in the Nicasio area of Marin County, and their two young daughters.
From a young age, Alyssa was actively involved in FFA and 4H, showcasing breeding beef, market beef, and market lambs. An avid hunter and horse reining rider, Alyssa developed an intimate knowledge of the land and animals through the influence of her mother and father. Her family’s extensive land history has provided her with expertise in cattle grazing, land stewardship, and sustainable land and forestry management. She continues this passion today with a deep understanding of the ecological balance required for thriving pastures, and productivity of environmental stewardship.
Growing up in Sonoma and Marin County as a generational rancher, Alyssa is committed to preserving the region’s heritage while embracing opportunities for growth and innovation.
