Building relationships is the key to Barb Trousdale's success. Her genuine interest in and her sincere desire to help people is what keeps clients coming back time and time again.
Barb brings valuable experience from her tenure as a Town Clerk that benefits both Sellers and Buyers. She has the uncanny ability to know where to look and what questions to ask to find all the details necessary to share with both Buyers and Sellers alike. This expertise benefits Barb's clients by providing them the information they need to make an informed decision whether they're choosing a sale price for their property or contemplating making an offer on a new home. These research skills when combined with her work at an attorney's office are invaluable to clients in helping them understand the entire process.
Barb's passion for educating buyers and sellers accompanied with her highly tuned ability to research, consolidate and analyze MLS, state sales data and town information has proven invaluable to her clients. Sellers represented by Preferred Properties are provided one of the most highly accurate competitive market analyses available in the area. Likewise, Buyers are able to utilize this information to make educated decisions about what to offer on a property. This combined with her years of experience in providing creative pricing strategies is one of Barbs many strengths. During her first year as a Realtor, Barb earned the designation of Accredited Buyer's Representative; less than 3% of agents nationwide hold this distinction. The education and training provide Barb with the tools and expertise to assist Buyers in a rapidly changing market. Barb is a frequent teacher at first-time home buyer seminars in Chittenden and Franklin County.
For the past 5 years, Barb has served on the Professional Standards Board and in 2009 was appointed Chair of the Board. In this capacity, she and other agents form a panel to hear and make decisions on disputes between members of the public and agents and disputes concerning disagreements of compensation between agencies. Barb is an active member of BNI (Business Networking International, Inc) and has held many leadership positions during the past 4 years. She is currently the Vice President of the Wealth Builders BNI Chapter.
Barb's past community participation includes serving on the Christian Ministries Inc. Board of Directors as Treasurer and Assistant Secretary on the Board of Governors for the Ethan Allen Club as well as volunteering at Essex Alliance Church. Beginning her career in 2003 at ReMax North Professionals, Barb moved to Chenette Real Estate in 2005. It was at Chenette Real Estate that she partnered with her husband Curtis to form "The Trousdale" team. On January 1, 2008, Barb and Curtis launched their own agency, Preferred Properties.
