Henry DeGroot, a 1960’s graduate of Holy Name High School in Escanaba, Michigan has been a Licensed REALTOR since 1975. After receiving a two-year agricultural scholarship to Michigan State University in 1961 and later taking courses in Real Estate Law at Lansing Community College, he became a member of the American society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers.
In August 1965 Henry was called to serve in the military. He decided to join the Air Force, and after a review of his background, he was assigned to administrative work. In November 1967 he was sent to Vietnam and, for a year and a half, served in the Reconnaissance Squadron with a Top-Secret clearance. Henry was discharged in April 1969 and one year later enrolled as an Assessor for his local Wells Township in Marquette County.
Soon after that, Henry was enrolled in several Townships before 47 years of age - 5 to be exact. In 1975 he acquired his Real Estate License with a Broker in Rock, Michigan and went on to work through a handful of Brokerages until 1980 when he settled in with, what is now known as, Great Lakes and Land Real Estate Co., Inc. We couldn’t be happier to have him on our team!
