John O'Donnell

John has been a professional forester and natural resource manager since 2001, with experience in both forestry consulting and procurement forestry.  He holds an associate’s degree from the SUNY Ranger School, as well as both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Forest Management from SUNY ESF.  With his wife, Valerie, he owns and operates Benchmark Forest & Land Management, LLC, serving landowners in eastern New York State.  Managing ~20,000 acres, including more than fifty 480a clients, John works with landowners to meet their management objectives, including timber production, wildlife habitat improvement, and enhancement of recreational opportunities.  John is intimately familiar with all aspects of recreational and timber investment properties and brings his knowledge and passion for both to the sellers and buyers he represents for Timberland Realty.  John enjoys watching his two daughters in their sports endeavors, as well as exploring the Adirondacks and beyond with his family, including fishing, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing.
